Zoe-perry
Perry was the daughter of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). Two of her earliest television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played the role. However, her parents did not let her perform until she reached the age of adulthood because of the impact stress might be able to have on their daughter. Perry said she felt timid to perform in high school but began performing in theater classes at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer to the university from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry went to New York to search for jobs on television, landing small parts in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought her back to California which is where she discovered acting jobs. Perry performed with her mom in The Other Place at Broadway at the end of 2013. She performed with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. She had a regular role in the ABC drama about politics Scandal that starred her dad. In addition, she played the younger Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon - a CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. The actress was chosen for the role in spite of her strong relationship with the character's family.
