Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. She sings as well. Her mother raised her in the USA, where she faced several racial stereotypes, which caused her to feel as an unwanted person. The confidence started to build at the age of nineteen when she entered a school audition. She received a lot of praise by the judges for her vocal ability. This not only increased confidence in herself, but it also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. At the age of 23 years old, she launched her journey in Broadway in the Paul Simon musical The Capeman. Then, when she was 23, her movie debut was You've got mail. In the Broadway first production of Spamalot, she played The Lady of The Lake which won the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. The following year, she was cast in the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. As a well-known singer, she has also released a single as well as an extended play. In addition, she is a LGBT activist.
