Tina and Amanda
Tina Louise has been a performer, writer, and actress in the United States for over forty years. Most famously, she is known because of her portrayal as Ginger Grant (in the 60s TV series Gilligan's Island). The actress began her career as a stage artist during the 1950s beginning in Two's Company a musical by Bettle Davis. She then acted in a number of Broadway shows before becoming an international star with Li'l Abner in 1957. That same year, she made her debut album of songs, called It's the Time for Tina. Louise's first foray in Hollywood was when she played Griselda on God's Little Acre, a 1958 film. It received wide applause. Louise won the Golden Globe Award under the New Star of the year category. During this time she enrolled into Actors Studio in New York and formed a connection to Lee Strasberg as his student. The next notable role she portrayed as Ginger Grant, which CBS was the first to sign her on to play in the year 1964. Louise continued to have a successful professional career that combines Broadway TV with Hollywood and portraying an empathetic, as opposed to the glamour doll image she had been portrayed as. Amanda Tapping..........................Amanda Tapping is best known for her acting roles as Samantha Carter in the series Stargate. SG-1 & Sanctuary but she also established herself as an accomplished television director on numerous series, including Supernatural and The 100. Her family relocated from Essex to Toronto and she lived there for growing up and in adolescence. After being chosen in 1997 for the role of Samantha Carter she settled down in Vancouver and has been living there ever since.
