Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was admitted by the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 1970s where she learned the flute piano and harpsichord during three years. The cost of tuition was covered by a student's stipend, and she worked part-time to make ends meet. Lennox felt that her skills weren't as good as those of the Royal Academy classmates. So she thought about alternative options she could pursue. Lennox started her professional career in 1976 when she was a member with the group Dragons Playground. However she left when the band was featured on I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. She was the singer for The Tourists a British pop band from 1977 to the year 1980. She met Dave Stewart, with whom they would create the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox began working on her debut solo album Diva in 1992. Commercially and critically the album was an immense success. Nostalgia Lennoxs single album of six that was released in October 2014 is Nostalgia Lennox. This C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favourite soul jazz and blues tunes of her childhood. In addition in May 2019 Lennox came out with Lepidoptera a collection of four improvised piano tracks. The E.P. The E.P. will be an accompanying piece to the artwork that she conceived at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art named Now I Let You Go... The album is her debut that was released on her own.
