Lisa Olivia Munn grew up in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam having Chinese roots, while Winston Barrett Munn's family has origins deep within the American South. Olivia was just two years old when her parents separated. She was raised by her stepfather and mother, both of whom who was an United States Air Force member. They left Oklahoma, and lived in several places, but she lived the majority of her childhood in Tokyo. In this period, Olivia was a part of several theatre productions. Then she was an Japanese model. When the family eventually returned back to the United States, Olivia moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Olivia's acting career took off after just a couple of minor roles. Olivia was cast in the role of Mily in the Hawaii-lensed series Beyond the Break (2005) as well as the role of receptionist in the film Big Stan starring Rob Schneider in Big Stan (2006). She hosts G4 podcasts such as "The Daily Nut,"" "Formula D,"" and "Formula D." She is a huge fan of surfing and has been practising since she saw the TV show Beyond the Break (2006). Additionally, she holds a black belt in taekwondo. When she was just two years old, her mother got married again, but this time with a US Air Force member. The majority of her childhood was spent in Tokyo, Japan where her stepfather was a member. She studied journalism at the University of Oklahoma and also minored Japanese, dramatic arts and drama.
